On the morning of November 1st, China's 40th Antarctic scientific expedition organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China set sail at the dock of the domestic base of China's polar expedition in Shanghai. The prefabricated apron manufactured by China Construction Integrated Science&Technology of Ross Sea New Station was set off with the ship as construction materials for Ross Sea New Station, and the expedition team was composed of more than 460 people from more than 80 domestic units, among which the technical personnel sent by China Construction Integration Science&Technology were responsible for providing technical support for the construction of the apron of Ross Sea New Station as members of the expedition team.
Ross Sea New Station is the first perennial scientific research station established in China in the new era, the third perennial scientific research station after the Great Wall Station and Zhongshan Station, and the first scientific research station facing the Pacific Sector.
The apron of the new Ross Sea station will be used as an important transportation node connecting various scientific research stations, which can transport supplies and scientific research equipment to scientific research stations in Antarctica, providing important support for the scientific research and living needs of the stations. It can also be used as a fast air lane in case of emergency.
