1. Research & development purpose of magnetic attraction node connection
For modular steel structure buildings with disassembly and assembly requirements, neodymium iron boron permanent magnets are used as media to achieve structural connection between upper and lower adjacent modules through magnetic attraction. Compared with the conventional bolt connection, the advantage of the magnetic attraction connection is the easy way to disassemble, furthermore, it will not cause the structure to be difficult to disassemble due to bolt corrosion. Among the existing module node connection forms in the international scope, there is no magnetic attraction connection. Therefore, this research can also enhance the differentiated competitive advantage for the company.

Magnetic attraction node connection is mainly applicable to low multi-storey modular steel structure buildings.

Backgrounds
At present, there are segmented prestressed unbonded connection, through prestressed bonded connection and through prestressed unbonded connection, which have shortcomings such as weak node, complex segmented connection and complex threading structure, as shown in the figure below. Therefore, it is necessary to develop key technologies of prestressed node connection.
Research purpose
1. Realize the self resetting function of modular building structure system under earthquake action;

Current Achivement
1. Efficient construction of prestressed reinforcement: to ensure efficient threading construction of prestressed reinforcement, PVC pipes are set in column, and the whole steel strand is connected to all modules, reducing the complexity of sectional connection of steel strand and improving construction efficiency;
2. Effective transfer of horizontal shear force: the vertical pipe for transferring horizontal force is set inside of the corner piece to transfer the horizontal shear force effectively;
3. Efficient connection between prestressed reinforcement and foundation: the end of prestressed reinforcement is set with anchor head and anchored in the end buckle which connected with the foundation, so as to realize efficient connection of double row modules。
